DIAPER
RASH CREAM
FEATURES:
·
Lubrasil™ DS – skin feel, water repellency, emulsion
stabilization
This
unique Vitamin A & D fortified diaper rash cream is an emulsion based on
Lubrasil™ DS and petrolatum. The
Lubrasil DS lends a soft velvety feel as well as raising the water
repellency. This formulation has a much
lighter feel than the essentially 100% petrolatum based salves.

PROCEDURE:
Prepare
the preservative blend (Phase A) by dissolving the Methylparaben
and Propylparaben in the Propylene Glycol with a
small amount of heat. Place the water
into a suitable mixing vessel and heat to 80°C (Phase B). Mix the components of
Phase C in a separate vessel and heat with mixing to 80°C. Using high shear
mixing, slowly add Phase C to Phase B.
Remove from heat. Upon natural cooling to below 60°C, using low shear
mixing, add Phase A followed by the Vitamin A/D3 and
Lubrasil DS. Allow the cream to mix well
after each addition. Filling may be done warm.
